Help the Világfa Waldorf Public Benefit Foundation create a local food ambassador model in which restaurants and cafés present the school’s cause through unique “Világfa” products or services – such as Világfa ice cream, a menu or a snack – and raise regular support for it from a small surcharge on the product.
The Világfa Waldorf Public Benefit Foundation runs a Waldorf school on the southern shore of Lake Balaton. Its mission is to build a community where children, families and the natural environment strengthen each other in shaping the future. Building on the values of Waldorf education, the foundation maintains a safe, nature-connected alternative learning environment where learning happens through experience, real relationships and shared action. In recent years it has built up a full school for grades 1–8, continuously develops its buildings, has created a biodynamic school garden, and runs the school community with the shared involvement of teachers, parents and children.
We are looking for a marketing, fundraising, partner communication or business development expert to help the Világfa Waldorf Public Benefit Foundation create an ambassador support model that fits naturally into the operations of local food businesses. The essence of the concept is that participating restaurants, cafés, patisseries and other hospitality venues do not simply ask their guests for donations, but create a creative, unique “Világfa” product or service in their own range – for example Világfa-flavoured ice cream, a Világfa menu, a Világfa snack, a special drink or another offer that suits the venue’s character. The product includes a small surcharge, all or a set part of which goes to support Világfa. This way the cause does not appear as a separate request for donations, but becomes part of the venue’s everyday operations and guest experience. The project’s task is to develop the creative and business framework for this model: how to approach food partners, how to find their own Világfa product idea together with them, how they should price and communicate it, what story should go with it, how to nudge guests towards choosing it, and how to make the whole thing simple to run and measure. The project also includes designing a small-scale pilot in which several different partners and product types can be tested. The aim is not to develop a technology platform, but to create a creative cause-marketing and micro-donation model that can generate ongoing support once built into a partner’s business.
Cause marketing, designing partner and ambassador programmes, fundraising and micro-donations, developing product and offer concepts, B2B partner communication, customer journeys and marketing funnels, pricing and surcharge logic, on-site activation, campaign and message planning, pilot design, CTAs, conversion and simple metrics.
Experienced – We are looking for a marketing, business development or fundraising expert who has already worked on partner campaigns, cause-marketing models, or retail or hospitality product activations, and who can build a social cause into a partner’s everyday offering in a way that is attractive to guests, simple for the partner to run, and creates measurable support for Világfa.
Hospitality, FMCG, retail or local business partnerships; co-branded or limited-edition products; cause marketing; menu or product development campaigns; point-of-sale communication; loyalty or referral programmes; micro-donations; nonprofit fundraising; conversion measurement and pilot campaigns.
Creativity, partner-focused thinking, business realism, simplification, persuasive communication, good questioning technique, a testing/pilot mindset, and the ability to create, with each partner, a Világfa concept that fits its own character while remaining consistent.
1–2 people
One staff member from the organisation can dedicate up to 4 hours per week to the project. The joint work can take place online, in Budapest or on the southern shore of Lake Balaton. The project focuses on involving local food businesses as ambassadors and developing unique Világfa products or services that generate support for the school through a small surcharge. The model must be easy to build into the partner’s existing operations: rather than creating a separate fundraising process, it should be a natural choice within the offering. It does not include full product development or manufacturing, legal or tax advice, running a national campaign, long-term partner sales or developing a custom technology platform. However, the project must establish the business framework for handling and communicating the surcharge and its basic accounting logic, and record the legal/tax questions involved as points to be checked separately.
Developing the basic logic of the ambassador model: what makes a partner a “Világfa ambassador”, what they commit to, what they receive, and how the cause appears in their everyday offering. Defining partner profiles: what kinds of restaurants, cafés, patisseries, bakeries or other food businesses fit the model. Building a partner recruitment funnel: first contact, a short partner offer, an introductory conversation, developing the product idea, decision and onboarding. Creating a creative ideation framework that helps each partner find its own authentic Világfa offer – for example Világfa ice cream, a Világfa menu, a Világfa cake, a Világfa snack, a Világfa drink or another unique product/service. Defining how the support is built into the product price: what surcharge or contribution logic is simple, understandable and acceptable for both guests and partners. Developing the narrative of the Világfa product and its visual/verbal communication framework: how to briefly present the school’s cause and connect it with the specific product. Designing the guest activation funnel: how guests notice the Világfa product, why they choose it, how they understand that their purchase is a form of support, and what feedback they get on the results. Creating on-site communication tools and examples, such as menu labels, counter or table cards, menu inserts, chalkboards, personal recommendations, QR codes, social media posts or short stories. Defining how partner staff can recommend the Világfa product naturally, so that it feels like a special local offer rather than a request for donations. Designing a first pilot with 3–5 partners, with different product ideas, roles, timing and a shared communication rhythm. Defining pilot metrics: the number of Világfa products sold, support generated, the product’s share of total sales, partner activity, guest reactions and repeat choices. Creating an evaluation framework at the end of the pilot to decide which partner and product types work best and how the model can be scaled.
A marketing, partnerships, fundraising or business development expert who understands how hospitality works and can turn a social cause into a creative, sellable product experience that is simple to run. The ideal candidate does not just plan a campaign, but thinks through the whole system: partner recruitment, product idea, surcharge, guest experience, communication, sales, support and measurement.
Local food businesses are in direct daily contact with the people from whom Világfa’s wider supporter community could also be built. If the school’s cause appears in a creative, lovable product – such as a special ice cream, menu or cake – support does not come as a separate decision or donation request, but becomes part of the guest’s everyday choice. This can make Világfa more visible, give the partner a special story, and create recurring support income at the same time.
The chance to use your marketing, cause-marketing or business development expertise to create a visible, creative support model that can be tested directly. Your work can result not just in a communication plan, but in concrete Világfa product ideas and partner operations that can bring real support to the school during the pilot.
